Xilinx Press Release # 0707FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE XILINX LAUNCHES AUTHORIZED TRAINING PROVIDER PROGRAM IN NORTH AMERICA Inaugural provider Technically Speaking, Inc. appointed to Southwest U.S. region SAN JOSE, Calif., January 9, 2007 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the world's leading provider of programmable chips, today announced the formation of an Authorized Training Provider (ATP) program in North America. Modeled after proven Xilinx ATP programs in Asia Pacific and EMEA, the new program complements the company’s Education Services curriculum, offering engineers an expanded network of local providers certified to deliver high quality Xilinx-authorized training in programmable logic and system-level design. The company also announced the appointment of its first certified North American training provider, Technically Speaking, Inc. (Las Vegas, NV.), for the Southwest U.S. region (Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Southern California). Technically Speaking was selected following a successful pilot of the ATP program that resulted in a 20 percent increase in training attendance in their region. Today, Technical Speaking, Inc. (http://www.technically-speaking.com) offers more than 20 courses to customers in the Southwest U.S., including FPGA design/architecture, embedded processing, DSP, HDL (VHDL/Verilog), PCI solutions, and design tools. Over the next 18 months, Xilinx intends to extend its ATP network to include additional providers operating across all regions of North America, with the ability to train engineers on Xilinx’s latest programmable silicon solutions, including both VirtexTM-5 and SpartanTM-3A FPGA families. “Today’s designers are facing incredible pressure to complete increasingly complex programmable designs faster, cheaper and with optimal system-level performance,” said Xilinx Vice President of Corporate Sales & Services Jane Vaillancourt. “This has led to increased market demand for high-quality, flexible, affordable, local training options for engineers designing with Xilinx. As part of our comprehensive Education Services offering, we’re meeting that demand through Xilinx and ATP provider-led training worldwide. We’re excited to expand the ATP program into North America, and to welcome Technically Speaking as our first certified provider.” “The Xilinx ATP program is a focused and flexible approach to customer training,” added Technically Speaking, Inc. Founder and CEO L. Eric Culverson. “The ability to develop long term customer relationships within a specific region that concentrates on individual and collective training needs provides a significant benefit for all parties. Technically Speaking, Inc is pleased to be designated as the first ATP in North America.” About the Xilinx Authorized Training Provider Network in North America In addition to Xilinx Education Services training, engineers located in the Southwest U.S. can enroll and pay for courses directly with Technically Speaking – or sign up with training credits if their company has purchased a Xilinx Productivity Advantage (XPA) package.
